The following is a brief case analysis of the case titled Suthenthiraraja v. State through DSP/CBI, SIT and others (1999) 9 SCC 323. This was the landmark case of Rajiv Gandhi’s Assassination. This case revolves around the concept of “Death Penalty” and “Mens Rea” in a crime.
