Prateek Arora:- Sir, What is the importance of study of Socio Legal issues in legal field?
Dr. Dinesh Babu:- I personally feels that studying Socio Legal issues in legal field is very important as it helps in spreading Socio legal awareness amongst the all the people residing and also for the benefit of the law students so that they can actively participate in the socio legal issues and at large serves the society at large.
I also think that Studying Socio Legal issues in legal field is also important as it helps to eradicate the socio legal problems that one faces and continuously helps to keep them at bay.

Prateek Arora:- Sir, Tell me about your initiatives in legal aid & awareness field as a professor.
Dr. Dinesh Babu:- Our College has constantly organizes various legal aid camps and has also been part of several lok adalats and our college has constantly has been organizing the free legal aid camps. I at my personal level have taught the students about the importance of free legal aid clinic and thus distribute the legal knowledge for the sake of the poor and needy people.
Indeed our college has been blessed and is adequately provided with with the active participation in the legal aid & awareness as a part of our academic curriculum which thus gives the students an insight of the problems and as well as the challenges the poor faces in the day to day life. Thus it will help them in the future as when they will be serving or taking up their respective cases.

Prateek Arora:- Sir, Tell me your students’ initiatives in legal aid, awareness, socio-legal issues.
Dr. Dinesh Babu:- Our students have also taken an active role in the legal aid, awareness, socio-legal issues.
Our student has thus taken part in several Lok adalats Fre legal aid clinics and also had taken participation in the workshops conducted by the DLSA. Our students have also come forward to undergo Internships with DLSA in their Summer Internship programmes as we had a plenty of application received for getting the permission to attend the Internships under DLSA.
Thus they are supposed to give the Final reports after the successful internships of the works done in their internship thus which are evaluated and thus are provided with the marks according to the qualitative work done.

Prateek Arora:- Sir, What is the role of higher judiciary in legal aid & awareness in India?
Dr. Dinesh Babu:- I think that the role of Judiciary is the one of the prime importance and in other words it can also be referred as a MASIAH in the eradication of the legal awareness. It is the ultimate protector, guardian of the Fundamental rights of the citizen as well as the poor people and the under privileged people.
There are several Judgements and precedents to ensure the same to the citizens of India. Even the role of the Writ in the Article 32 & 226 has also served wonders in providing with the regular check in providing Fundamental rights to the citizen as well as to poor people and the under privileged people which are guaranteed under the Constitution of India.

Prateek Arora:- Sir, What is the role of Government in legal aid & awareness in India?
Dr. Dinesh Babu :- Government is under an obligation to provide with legal aid & awareness in India by virtue of Article 39A of the Constitution of India. I also think that it needs to be more practicable in nature too rather just to provide it under the constitution rather than implementing in its strict sense. I also think that there needs to be more statues/legislatures needs to be made with a mindset to serve/cater to the needs of the poor people pertaining to the legal assistance as those backward classes are unable to get them the basic legal requirements which have ought to be provided and thus as a result that several under trial prisoners are thus are thee behind the bars as they are unable to get a legal assistant for them even in the cases where the punishment is not of a serious in nature.

Prateek Arora:- Sir, What are your views on present situation of legal aid and awareness initiatives in India?
Dr. Dinesh Babu Sir:- I think present situation of legal aid and awareness initiatives in India are appropriate in nature as we are thus going in the correct direction but i think the quality is more or somewhat is lacking. I also think that the current legal awareness is blessed with the appropriate legislation for the legal awareness and for legal aid but I think the problem if lies in somewhere then it is thus in the effective implementation of the current statues.

Prateek Arora:- Sir, What are your views on effectiveness of Legal Service Authority Act, 1987?
Dr. Dinesh Babu:- I think present situation of legal aid and awareness initiatives in India under the current Legal Service Authority Act 1987 are appropriate in nature as we are thus going in the correct direction even though there are appropriate legislation to provide the poor with the legal assistance I think the qualitative assistance is lacking a bit.
Nowdays it has been seen that the people are more aware of their rights as citizens simply because of the effective and hardwork of the DLSa as they conduct several workshops, seminar, rallies, Nukkad nataks, Debates etc to educate the people about their rights as the citizens.

Prateek Arora:- Sir, What are your views on present situation of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in India?
Dr. Dinesh Babu:- PIL has also worked wonder in ensuring the betterment of the poor and the underprivileged peoples in providing them with the basic rights provided to them by the virtue of the constitution of India, Not even for the sake of poor but PIL has also helped in the protection of the environment for whom the sole credit goes to Mr. M.C. Mehta whom had worked wonders in the Environment protection.
I think present situation of legal aid and awareness initiatives in India are appropriate after the introduction of the PIL in nature as we are thus going in the correct direction even though there are appropriate legislation to provide the poor with the legal assistance.
I think more and more practising advocates should come forward although the gambit of the PIL filed in the courts are alarming and are in huge numbers and thus the more and more advocates should come forward and should not think of their Development but for the development  or for the upliftment of the poor and needy people.

Prateek Arora:- Sir, What advise you would like to give to the future Advocates/Professors/Scholars with regards to socio-legal issues, legal aid and awareness initiatives?
Dr. Dinesh Babu:- I advise to all the Future Advocates to work hard as this is the one of the toughest field to be in and thus when one have done the hard work then thus it is the heaven for them as the level of the competence they will have are next to no one and thus in other words are unmatchable.
What I am trying to say that first undergo the pain as the pain is temporary but the class is permanent so thus you will be surely be enjoying the fruits of your hard work you have put in.

Prateek Arora:- Sir, any Message to ProBono India?
