The study aims at analyzing the concept and practice of Forced Marriage in different forms. It mainly focuses on the aspects of Child marriage within the topic and restricts its study to India while covering a few instances of other nations around the world. India has developed into a modern country today, but some social evils like child marriages and forced marriages are still prevalent in our country. A marriage is considered to be the sacred union of two souls. When it is vitiated by such dark and evil elements, the whole purpose of a successful marital life is defeated. Across the world, India has one of the highest figures in Child marriage instances. The study aims to critically analyze the various factors that lead to child marriage. It further analyses the ill effects of early marriages on the parties involved that is, the boy and girl, who are usually minor. It studies the impact of early marriages on the economy of a nation. The study moves forward analyzing the legal frameworks that are currently available for the protection against such social evils and their contrast with some of the religious laws. It concludes by analyzing that much work is yet to be done about these issues to eradicate them from society.
