An Analysis on Recidivism in the Indian Justice System

This article is aimed at providing a thorough evaluation of the existing literature on recidivism as a part of criminology and comparing the methods on dealing with the issue throughout the nation of India. Recidivism is a problem that arises from the innumerable cracks and crevices of the criminal justice system and has turned into a significant issue for the society because of the fact that it has been ignored and not delved into by the judicial management as much as it should be. The causes and effects of recidivism have been discussed at length herein and research-based recommendations have been made in accordance with the modern theories of penology and rehabilitation for prisoners within the system. The research methodology utilized is doctrinal and diagnostic.
